Ayahuasca effects begin in 20 to 60 minutes, peak between 1.5 and 2 hours and run 4 to 6 hours. The hour by hour clock from 650 ceremonies on the Rio Momon set against the pharmacology, plus the screening, medication and outcome numbers most retreats never publish.
The vine's MAO-A block is reversible and no tyramine crisis from ayahuasca is on record. The medication taper is what hurts people. See our timelines by drug.
