Iquitos gives you the plants and the lineage in their own place. It also puts a hospital ninety minutes away, thirty of them by river, and that single fact makes our screening stricter than a city center needs. Hover any question to see what we are looking for.

A brew of the Banisteriopsis caapi vine and chacruna leaf, both cut within an hour of here and cooked on site over two days. Drunk after dark and worked with for five to six hours while two maestros sing icaros and move between guests. Purging is expected and prepared for at every mat.
Nobody is asked how much to drink and nobody is offered a second cup they did not request.

Usually the night people describe afterwards. The maestros have watched you for two nights and adjust the icaros per person by now, in their own language, on their own ground.

Closing as the birds start, which here is unmistakable. Bufo is offered the next morning to guests both leads have cleared, in the quiet, one at a time.

Screening here takes about two weeks. Roughly one application in five does not proceed, nothing is charged before a physician confirms a place, and declined applicants get the reason in writing plus a referral list. Book flights after confirmation, never before.

There is also no altitude to recover from, so you are ready to sit sooner.
Iquitos is the largest city in the world with no road to it. Fly to Lima, then about two hours north. We meet you at Secada Vignetta, drive an hour, and take a boat the last thirty minutes. It is a long travel day from most US cities, so we ask you to arrive the day before your week starts.
Ninety minutes to Iquitos, thirty of those on the river. That is the honest number, and any lodge quoting less than an hour has not timed the boat. It is why a physician stays on site every night, why a fuelled boat sits at the dock around the clock, and why we screen harder than a city center does.
Yellow fever vaccination is recommended for the Peruvian Amazon, and typhoid and hepatitis A are worth discussing with your doctor. Malaria prophylaxis needs care because some antimalarials interact with ayahuasca. Tell us what your travel clinic suggests before you fill the prescription and our physician will confirm what is compatible.
Around 88 degrees and heavy humidity year round, with rain in any month. Every room and the maloca are screened, we supply nets and unscented repellent because the dieta rules out fragranced products, and the ceremony room is cooler than the day suggests once the sun goes down.

Yes. It is legal here and was recognised as part of the national cultural heritage in 2008. It is illegal to carry into the United States, which is why the work happens here and stays here.
$5,800 covers seven nights, four ceremonies, a private screened room, the dieta kitchen, airport transfers and river transport, an optional Kambo session, and twelve months of integration calls. Flights, vaccinations and travel insurance are not included.
A physician reads every application. Your integration lead calls you. We either offer a place on a named week upriver or explain plainly why we cannot, and there is no follow up you did not ask for.
